Keswick is int he center of the northern lakes belonging to the Lake District; between Bassenthwaite Lake, Derwent Water and Thirlmere and not far from Ullswater which is osuth east. The town has been popular since Victorian times when the first railway lines reached this location. Keswick has a repertory theatre ans some good outdoor shops as well as all the usual tourist necessities like cafes, pubs, restaurants and a range of shops. Centrall situated is the Moot Hall which dates from 1813 and is now the toruist centre. Well worth a visit is the Pencil Museum as graphite was discovered and mined here resulting in a pencil industry. You can also visit the Museum and Art Gallery which incorporates original scritps from Lakeland writers.
