Ullswater Lake has clean and clear water which makes it ideal for watersports such as sailing, sail-boarding, fishing and cruising. The picturesque surrounding valleys to challenging hill walking. There are also facilities for other outdoor activities such as horse-riding, cycling, mountain-biking, rock-climbing and much more.

Around the lake there are many villages and hamlets to stay and rent your Ullswater Holiday Home or Ullswater Holiday Cottage. These small towns and villages have shops for essentials and souvenirs, pubs, cafés and restaurants. Places like Patterdale, Pooley Bridge are well worth a visit.
