Warwickshire Holiday Cottages and Holiday HomesWarwickshire is in the Hear of England, has flat fertile plains and is the birthplace of Shakespeare. In fact Shakespeare was born in Stratford-upon-Avon where there is a Globe theatre constructed in tribute to the famous man. Not far from Stratford is Warwick from which the county is named. Both of these towns are well worth a visit with many interesting things for holidaymakers. You can rent a Warwickshire Holiday Home or Cottage in the countryside or on the outskirts of one of the towns. Alternatively you could try a Stratford Apartment or Warwick Apartment self catering holiday rental. Stratford has a wealth of historic and Medieval buildings to explore and still has the home of Shakespeare maintained as a museum to the great man. The Royal Shakespeare theater holds plays in the town and we also recommend visiting Anne Hathaway?s cottage, the Holy Trinity church, the delightful Hall?s cottage which was home to Shakespeare?s son-in-law, a doctor, and also Harvard House where the novelist Marie Corelli lived. Warwick is the home to Warwick castle which is the best preserved castle in the UK and today is a ?living museum?. Various events are held here and characters portray certain time periods as you explore the castle. This is a great day out for the whole family. This is a medieval fortress of fine construction with massive battlements and wonderful buildings. The original Norman castle was rebuilt in the 13th and 14th centuries when large outer walls and towers were added. Also in Warwick there is the St John?s house museum which is a charming Jacobean mansion. Warwickshire is a great place for exploring the Heart of England and staying in a Warwickshire Holiday Cottage or Holiday Home. |
